Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma realized she would like to be an actress and for a number of years she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. From the age of 10, she took part as the lead in a number of Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. After eight consistent auditions producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the year's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. Critics were impressed with the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her performance. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her outstanding performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of an Film.
